These are used when presentation, point of sale, product impact protection and pack durability is of importance. They are particularly useful for heavier items.

Plastazote: |
These are closed cell polyethylene foams produced in various densities, designated by kg/m3. These materials perform very well in extreme temperatures and have an excellent memory, recovering very well after compression. They can be routed, die cut or cut and welded to produce high quality products offering a high level of protection with a presentational finish. They are available in black and white as stock in all densities. Various colours are available in specific densities subject to stock at time of enquiry. These foams are often used with Flight Cases to give a contoured protection to the products inside with a professional finish. Some densities are available in a static dissipative grade.

| Polylam: |
This is a non cross-linked open cell foam. This material has a good memory, recovering in time to a high percentage of its original volume after compression. This material can be die cut or cut and welded to produce the final product. This is usually supplied in white and is a cost effective way of producing protective foam fittings. This foam is also available in an anti-static grade.

| Kay-Flex |
This is a relatively new material which resembles polystyrene but has many properties of a hard foam. These include a cushioning property with a memory that allows a partial recovery. This is a very cost effective alternative when space filling and cushioning are of equal importance.

| Extruded Polyethylene: |
These are extruded closed cell foams which come in pre-formed profiles. These materials perform very well in extreme temperatures and have an excellent memory, recovering very well after compression. The profile shapes include “L”, “U”, Tulip, Diameter and others. These can be supplied in their natural profile for edge protection for all types of products, including glass and other panel products, or manufactured into corner, end and other intricate forms of protection. |
